Self-care in pregnancy

When you’re busy thinking about your little one, it can be hard to pay any attention to yourself. It’s so important to take care of yourself especially when you’re pregnant. Here are our tips and advice for self-care during pregnancy:

Journaling

You’ll be thinking about everything but yourself: you’ll find yourself searching for antenatal classes and ploughing through stores trying to find the perfect stroller. Stop. Take some time to relax and reflect on your day. The best thing about this is that you can personalise your journal, plain and simple or bedazzled to the heavens, it’s up to you.

Get some fresh air

Sometimes you just need the peace and quiet of nature to help you de-stress. The daily hustle and bustle of life can be tiresome especially during pregnancy so take some time out for a stroll.

Move it mama!

Light exercise is fine during pregnancy so why not take up a new pregnancy exercise class? From water aerobics to mummy yoga there’s lots for you to join in with. Always remember to consult your midwife and/or doctor if you have any concerns.

Preparing for labour

Your body is creating room for a little one but are YOU ready? It’s so important to implement mindfulness and meditation to emotionally and mentally prepare for labour. Try breathing exercises, calming music and visualisations.

 Be kind

More than anything be kind to yourself. You’re going through a life-changing experience and it can be hard for others to understand exactly what you’re feeling. Don’t be too hard on yourself and enjoy the journey to meeting your little one.
